Today, the Holy Mass was celebrated by Rev. Fr. Agustín Ambrosini, IVE.

In the morning sessions, M. María de la Providencia Núñez presented some corrections made to the texts of the Directory of the Third Order Secular.

M. Mary Mother of Mercy McDunnough (General Treasurer) addressed the proposals regarding the Economy that had been submitted to the Chapter; she also proposed some improvements in some texts of the Rule of Administration.

M. María Corredentora Rodríguez (Superior General), mentioned that the General Government for some time had been studying the possibility of consecrating our Institute to the Sacred Heart of Jesus in an official and solemn way; as the Chapter agreed to approve the proposal, which was entrusted to the new General Government to bring it into effect.

In the afternoon, the Mothers continued their meetings in various Commissions, in order to study and complete the composition of different Rules, annexes, instructions and other documents, which, once corrected, will be presented to the Chapter for approval. The Commissions under intense study include, among others, that of the Secretary, Religious Life, Works of Mercy, Formation, Liturgy and Communications.

Afterward, we had Eucharistic Adoration and Vespers.

The Good Nights were given by M. María de Betania Espinoza, Local Superior of the Community “Nuestra Señora de Caacupé”, in the Ciudad del Este, Paraguay, which belongs to the Delegation “Nuestra Señora de los Buenos Aires”.

M. Betania told us about the apostolate that our sisters are able to do in this country, especially by means of an extensive pastoral work that includes activities in the Parish, Catechesis, attention to groups of the Legion of Mary, visits to the sick, etc.

In the evening, the Mothers from the Province of Peru, “Nuestra Señora de Chapi”, prepared typical food and presented the missions of this Province, which by the grace of God, have shown prosperous growth over the last years, for the good of souls.
